What Does the App Treat?
The Healing Vertigo App helps to treat Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), which is the most common cause of vertigo. BPPV happens when tiny crystals from one part of our inner ear fall into another part, causing symptoms of vertigo, dizziness and imbalance.
There are 4 main varieties of BPPV: Posterior Canalithiasis, Horizontal Canalithiasis, Posterior Cupulolithiasis and Horizontal Cupulolithiasis. This App will help you determine which type of BPPV you have, and show you which maneuver is best to treat that type of BPPV.
How Does the App Work?
As mention, there are 4 main varieties of BPPV, and understanding how to determine which you have and how to treat it can be challenging on your own.
With this App we will show you how to test for BPPV using the Dix-Hallpike and Head Roll Test. By completing the tests and answering a few questions, we will be able to help you determine the type of BPPV you may have and from there we will lead to you the specific treatment maneuver recommended to resolve your symptoms.
Treatment maneuvers include the Epley, BBQ Roll, Gufoni, Semont’s and Casani. We do all this while providing you easy patient-focused videos and important tips to ensure you remain safe.
Who Should Use the App?
Anyone can use this app, however it is primarily recommend for:
People who have been diagnosed with BPPV from a qualified healthcare provider and are looking for a self-management resource tool
Healthcare Providers looking for a resource when treating BPPV
