Living with vestibular migraine can be a daunting challenge. The unpredictable symptoms, the difficulty in explaining your condition to others, and the daily toll it can take on your life can leave you feeling isolated and overwhelmed. But what if you could find practical solutions, expert guidance, and a community of support, all in one place? That’s exactly what our Vestibular Migraine Workshop offers.

This small-group workshop is designed to empower individuals with vestibular migraine disorder to take control of their condition and thrive. Over eight weeks, you’ll gain the tools, knowledge, and confidence to live successfully with vestibular migraines. Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed or have been navigating this journey for years, this workshop is for you.

What to Expect from the Workshop

The workshop consists of eight interactive sessions, each focusing on a critical aspect of understanding and managing vestibular migraines. Here’s an overview of what we’ll cover:

  1. Understanding Migraines: In this foundational session, you’ll dive into the science behind migraines. Learn why migraines occur, what distinguishes vestibular migraines from other vestibular disorders, and the neurological processes involved. This session provides clarity on your condition, helping you understand why certain strategies work and empowering you to make informed decisions.

  2. Vestibular Migraine Symptoms and Off-Switches: Discover the full spectrum of vestibular migraine symptoms, from dizziness and vertigo to brain fog and sensory sensitivities. Learn how to identify the onset of symptoms early and explore techniques and tools to interrupt them, including relaxation methods, grounding exercises, and lifestyle adjustments.

  3. Migraine Triggers: Not all triggers are universal. This session will help you identify your personal migraine triggers, whether they’re dietary, environmental, or emotional. You’ll also learn strategies to reduce exposure to these triggers and how to handle unavoidable ones.

  4. Lifestyle Modifications: Explore actionable lifestyle changes that can make a lasting difference in managing your condition. Topics include optimizing your diet for migraine prevention, improving sleep hygiene, establishing stress-reduction routines, and creating an environment that supports vestibular health.

  5. Pacing, Planning, and Energy Conservation: Managing a chronic condition requires careful energy allocation. This session will introduce the Spoon Theory as a framework for understanding energy limits. You’ll learn practical techniques for pacing yourself, setting boundaries, planning your day, energy restoration and avoiding burnout while maintaining a fulfilling life.

  6. Pharmacological, Supplements, Devices and Alternative Therapies: Learn about the range of treatments available, including medications commonly used for vestibular migraines, evidence-based supplements, neuromodulation devices, and alternative therapies. Also learn about migraine rescue kits and how to create one to be used during a migraine attack. This session provides an overview of options to help you work with your healthcare provider to find what’s right for you.

  7. Vestibular Physiotherapy: Vestibular physiotherapy can play a significant role in reducing dizziness, improving balance, and retraining your vestibular system. This session will cover what to expect from vestibular therapy, exercises you can do at home, and how to find a qualified therapist.

  8. Tying It All Together: In the final session, you’ll integrate everything you’ve learned into a cohesive plan. Topics include navigating relationships and communicating your needs, managing work-life balance, driving safety and adaptations, resources and support and cultivating a mindset of resilience and self-compassion. By the end, you’ll have a comprehensive strategy for living successfully with vestibular migraines.
